Secure pricing to reduce the overall cost of rental programs, and
having the flexibility to meet member specific requirements for diverse geographical regions was Corporate United’s objective.

Corporate United, the nation’s largest horizontal indirect group purchasing organization, today announced the launch of a new flexible, competitive car rental program for members through Enterprise Holdings, which owns and operates the National Car Rental and Enterprise Rent-A-Car brands.

The nine-month sourcing initiative was focused on a single source supplier for both domestic and international car rental that could:

“Enterprise Holdings was the obvious choice to provide a best-in-class travel offering,” said Marc Rosen, president and COO of Corporate United.

After extensive market research, Corporate United analyzed more than 20 different members, prospects and market leaders to create a sample market basket for the establishment of the program.

“Our research shows that the car rental category will be of extreme interest to a number of our member companies. And we’ll continue to evaluate other opportunities in this vertical,” said Rosen.

Only three suppliers were qualified and after conducting interviews, an RFI and an RFQ, two suppliers were selected to participate in presentations.

“Enterprise Holdings ultimately won the award based on its flexibility,” Rosen added.

As always, Enterprise Holdings allows members to select or opt out of coverages and can reduce rates based on diverse geographical regions as well as members’ distinct travel needs. In addition, Enterprise and National offer a Total Cost Solution that further reduces spend beyond base rates alone.

“We’re genuinely excited about this new opportunity,” said Brad Carr, vice president for Enterprise Holdings. “Everyone here is looking forward to working with the Corporate United team, not only to add value, but also to develop a solid partnership and grow lasting relationships.”

Founded in 1997, Corporate United is the market leader in providing managed supplier and contract solutions to its more than 240 member companies.

The membership, representing nearly $1 billion in indirect spend, creates the leverage behind the most unique service offerings available to buying organizations within and beyond the Fortune 1000.

Corporate United combines this leverage with its proprietary industry intelligence to expertly manage more than 30 indirect spend categories.

The result is exponential improvement for their members and continuous efficiency for suppliers.

Corporate United is based in Westlake, Ohio with regional offices throughout the U.S. The company was recently named to the Inc. 5,000 list of the nation’s fastest growing companies for the seventh consecutive year.

Enterprise Holdings, the holding company for National and Enterprise, is the largest car rental company in the world, with the most U.S. airport market share and more locations than any other car rental company. Enterprise Holdings has more vehicles than the total fleets of all other U.S. car rental companies combined. Award winning customer service has earned Enterprise Holdings a reputation for exceeding customers’ expectations. Enterprise Holdings’ portfolio of car rental brands โ€“ including National and Enterprise โ€“ topped out the annual J.D. Power 2013 North American Rental Car Satisfaction Study SM ranking, and were the only brands to finish above the industry average.
