LONDON, England and KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – IFSEC Southeast Asia, organised by UBM, cemented itself as the key event for the region at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia. Taking place from 3rd – 5th September, thousands of senior buyers flooded through the doors[1] with an impressive quantity and quality of audience from the ASEAN region and beyond.

IFSEC Southeast Asia 2014 demonstrated that this is the go-to place for sourcing the latest products and innovations in Southeast Asia. More than 300 exhibitors from 36 countries, including national pavilions from United Kingdom, Taiwan, China and Singapore showcased their latest solutions and offered visitors the chance to get hands-on with interactive features. Action on the show floor included the highly anticipated official opening ceremony conducted by YDH Datuk Haris Wong Abdullah, Deputy Director of Narcotics Criminal of Royal Malaysia Police, and the APSA Recognition Dinner on the evening of Day 2, featuring Dato’ Seri Dr Zahid Hamidi as the Guest of Honour.

Commenting on the benefits of IFSEC Southeast Asia, visitor Arthur Dabkowski, Counsellor of Trade and Investment Promotion Section, Embassy of the Republic of Poland, said: “IFSEC Southeast Asia helps us to see what’s relevant in the market. The event has filled a gap in the Southeast Asian region for an exhibition of such scale. We hope to participate next year as exhibitors looking at how successful it has been this year!”

More than 65 per cent of the floor plan has already been rebooked for 2015, with returning exhibitors including: AXIS Communications, Panasonic, NSI Electronics, Sensorlink, Paradox, Senstar, Senzo, OT Systems, plus many more. This provides the perfect platform to take the show to new heights next year and welcome an even wider community of security professionals to the event.

Confirming the success of the 2014 event, Ken Lee, Country Sales Manager, AXIS Communications, Malaysia said: “IFSEC Global events cater to different markets with different requirements, such as government agencies, and we feel that we have achieved our targets in the Southeast Asian region by joining IFSEC Southeast Asia.” Providing further support for IFSEC Southeast Asia 2014, Tim Su, Marketing Director, Vivotek, commented: “IFSEC Southeast Asia is the most successful show in the region and the best platform for us. With a growth in quality visitors this year, we will definitely be back next year with an even bigger stand!”

Supporters of IFSEC Southeast Asia include the Royal Malaysia Police, Ministry of Home Affairs Malaysia, Ministry of Urban Wellbeing, Housing & Local Government Malaysia, PDRM, CyberSecurity Malaysia, Asian Professional Security Association (APSA – Malaysia Chapter), British Security Industry Association (BSIA) and American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS – Malaysia Chapter).

Kristan Johnstone, International Event Manager, IFSEC Southeast Asia commented: “IFSEC Southeast Asia 2014 has been a great success and the response from both visitors and exhibitors to the new features and education has been hugely positive. We’d like to thank our exhibitors, partners and sponsors for their continued support and look forward to sharing our plans for 2015 where we will further leverage the involvement we enjoy from key partners both in the region and internationally!”
