SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Here’s a good name to know when planning events in California: The San Francisco Travel Association has appointed Antonette Eckert to the position of Director, International Tourism-Asia/Pacific.

In her new role, Eckert will manage ongoing tourism sales programs in the Asia/Pacific region, including China, Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, India and Southeast Asia. She will also help develop the long-term strategic vision of tourism relative to the Asia/Pacific market, including identifying new markets, expanding the client base, increasing results from new and existing tour operators and enhancing the relationship with San Francisco International Airport (SFO).

Eckert comes to San Francisco Travel from Visit California, where she was Director of Asia Marketing and previously Advertising and Co-op Marketing Manager. Past positions have also included Executive Director at Visit Vacaville, Media Supervisor at Ogilvy One in New York and Media Planner/Buyer for SCP/RAPP Collins Worldwide.

She holds a master’s degree in Travel and Tourism Management from the New York University Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism & Sports Management and a bachelor’s degree in Radio and Television from San Francisco State University.
