ST GEORGE, UT – SkyWest Airlines, a subsidiary of SkyWest, Inc, announces the promotion of Tracy Gallo to Vice President โ€“ Flight Operations effective Sept. 4, 2014. Gallo will succeed Klen Brooks, who will retire after 40 years with the airline. As Vice President โ€“ Flight Operations, Gallo will be responsible for all areas of SkyWest’s flight operations, including the airline’s Flight Training, Flight Control, and Crew Scheduling, and will oversee the development and implementation of operations policies and procedures to ensure the highest possible level of safety and efficiency.

“With four decades dedicated to SkyWest’s flight operations department, Klen leaves an indelible mark on our airline,” said Mike Thompson, SkyWest Airlines Chief Operating Officer. “He has been a part of or overseen nearly every milestone of SkyWest’s history, and we thank him for his incredible service as he begins a well-deserved retirement.”

Gallo steps into the role of Vice President with more than twenty years in flight operations, including flight instructor, simulator instructor and check airman. He takes on the VP role after nearly four years as the Director โ€“ Flight Training, a position in which he oversaw the airline’s industry-leading flight training program and the implementation of Advanced Qualification Program training to ensure pilots remain proficient and adapt to the changing conditions at the airline and throughout the industry.

“Tracy’s talent, proficiency and ability to skillfully navigate even the most challenging obstacle with ease will serve him well in his new role,” continued Thompson. “I’m confident his background and expertise, as well as his approach to working with our people toward excellence, will be invaluable in propelling SkyWest’s industry-leading flight operations forward.”
