“Sydney well and truly has its mojo back,” said New South Wales (NSW) Deputy Premier Andrew Stoner, commenting on today’s announcement of a new 5-star destination for Sydney’s Darling Harbour.

“Sydney well and truly has its mojo back,” said New South Wales (NSW) Deputy Premier Andrew Stoner, commenting on today’s announcement of a new 5-star destination for Sydney’s Darling Harbour.

International Convention Centre Sydney Chief Executive Officer and AEG Ogden Group Director of Convention Centres Geoff Donaghy have welcomed today’s announcement of a new luxury 5-star Sofitel hotel for Sydney’s new premier business events precinct on Darling Harbour. It will be the first large luxury hotel built in Sydney’s CBD since the 2000 Olympics.

“Our international and national attendees will now have a deluxe 5-star hotel just 30 meters from the entrance to the harbor side foyer entry to the conventional center, further adding to the great array of accommodation choices within easy walking distance of the venue,” he said.

“Today’s technology enables us to inform and involve delegates better than ever before, and we look forward to providing exceptional experiences at what is set to become ICC Sydney’s headquarters hotel.

“We look forward to exploring a range of exciting options with Accor to create the Sofitel as a genuine headquarters offering providing a seamless and integrated event experience for our mutual clients and guests,” said Mr. Donaghy.

Sydney has secured a landmark luxury 5-star hotel as part of the new world-class convention, exhibition and entertainment precinct at Darling Harbour, NSW Deputy Premier Andrew Stoner announced today.

Mr. Stoner said the premium harbor-side hotel will have around 600 rooms and be a standout feature of the NSW Government’s $2.5 billion transformation of Darling Harbour.

“Today’s announcement is a milestone in Darling Harbour’s revitalization and a major tourism win for the State,” Mr. Stoner said.
