Twenty tourism stakeholders from across Reunion, representing the private and public sector, came together last week to brainstorm and discuss how to take the industry to the next level. Key staff from the Reunion Tourism Federation, IRT and the tourism offices across the island looked at e-marketing, events, training seminars and local and international publicity generated for the island. Information about new tourism products and facilities was exchanged too allowing participants to stay up to date in their knowledge about the offerings guests and tourist can expect.

At the same time did details emerge from the 2014 survey results of โ€˜Marieeโ€™, one of Franceโ€™s leading bridal magazines, where Reunion came a respectable third with 9 percent of the votes cast, after two fellow Vanilla Island members, Mauritius with 15 percent and the Maldives with 13 percent.
The magazine, published quarterly, has a print edition of 43.000 and is much in demand by young couples planning for their dream wedding and their dream honeymoon destination, where Reunion clearly can hold its own against major competing exotic locations.
