ORLANDO, FL – Central Florida travelers can look forward to enjoying more of the United Kingdom.

ORLANDO, FL – Central Florida travelers can look forward to enjoying more of the United Kingdom. Virgin Atlantic announced it will expand its service between the UK and Orlando with new direct flights from Belfast, Northern Ireland to Orlando International Airport.

Virgin Atlantic has added this new route to meet high demand to one of its flagship leisure destinations. This will be the first time Virgin has operated out of Northern Ireland and will be the only scheduled airline to fly this route.

“The UK continues to be one of our most popular destinations and we welcome Belfast as our newest international market,” says Phil Brown, Executive Director of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. “Expanding international travel options is important to Orlando International Airport because it offers our customers access to new opportunities for business and leisure.”

The new Belfast to Orlando service will operate on a weekly basis during June and July of 2015 and will add 3,600 seats to and from Central Florida over the season. Virgin Atlantic will fly Boeing 747-400 aircraft configured with 14 Upper Class seats, 66 Premium Economy seats and 375 economy seats.

Since 1988, Virgin Atlantic has carried approximately 15 million passengers to and from Orlando International Airport and now operates 2,500 scheduled flights each year between Orlando and London/Gatwick, Manchester and Glasgow.
