NEW YORK, NY (September 3, 2008) - Jeff Clarke, president and CEO of Travelport, one of the world's largest travel conglomerates, and chairman of Orbitz Worldwide, will deliver the keynote address at The Society of Government Travel Professionals' (SGTP) 2008 EdCon Conference to be held in Washington, DC on September 3-5. Mr. Clarke will provide an insightful overview of the travel sector in the context of the current economic downturn, as well as address current trends and future opportunities.

According to SGTP, government is the single largest purchaser of travel in the world and the annual EdCon Conference provides the opportunity for government personnel and members of the travel industry to better understand each others' industries and discuss and leverage initiatives and programs that are mutually beneficial.

"I am delighted to have the opportunity to address the future of government travel and work with SGTP and its members to optimize processing efficiencies and cost savings and to further strengthen communications between government travel professionals and the travel industry," said Clarke.

"The Society of Government Travel Professionals is looking forward to hosting Jeff Clarke, a leader and innovator within the travel industry and government sector. He will surely leave our audience with thought-provoking ideas and challenges to meet the future of government travel," said Rick Singer, CTC, executive director, SGTP.
