BANGKOK, Thailand – Thirty contestants for the inaugural Miss Russia in Thailand 2014 pageant were selected during the first casting session that took place at Centara Grand Phratamnak Pattaya on Monday, June 30.

The finals of the competition, which is being organized by Centara Grand Phratamnak, will take place on Friday, August 29.

The event is planned to be held yearly, and is in recognition of the fact that Thailand is a very popular destination for Russian tourists.

Last year, 1.2 million Russian tourists visited Thailand, with Pattaya being a top destination, and there are also 134,600 Russian residents living in Chonburi province, in which Pattaya is located.

Russian residents from other destinations such as Bangkok, Phuket and Samui are also being involved in the event.

Miss Russia in Thailand will celebrate the beauty, style and elegance of Russian women.

The final casting took place in the spectacular lobby of Centara Grand Phratamnak, which in the brief period that the five-star hotel has been open has become a renowned venue for high society and other glamorous events.

The next stage is the semi-finals, which will take place on July 12 and will see 20 contestants chosen.

During the final on August 25, 10 contestants will be chosen, with the winner being crowned Miss Russia in Thailand 2014.

The first prize is Baht 200,000, with the second prize Baht 150,000 and third prize Baht 100,000. The runners-up in the 4th to 10th positions will each receive Baht 25,000.

The venue for the semi-finals and the finals will be the lobby of Centara Grand Phratamnak.
