Reunion Island Tourism (IRT) organized am eductour called “cocktail nature” for local tourism professionals in early June (5 & 6). For the two days, the group was able to experience leisure activities and accommodation on Reunion Island for a better understanding of tourism products offered by the island. A second session was held on June 26 and 27.

The information and marketing IRT service agency welcomed Bourbon Tourism, the Tourist Office of the East, the Blue Beach accommodations, Creoles Victoria, and Boucan Canot, meeting on Thursday, June 5 at 6:45 for a departure to the west coast of the island.

The morning program included an experience with the diving club B’Leu Ocean Saint-Leu, followed by lunch at Le Bambou Etang-Sale. They then headed in the direction of Saint-Pierre in the afternoon to visit the Domaine de Cafe Grill before ending their day at the Victoria Hotel located in Grand-Bois, where the professionals put their bags for the night.

Visit to O Sea Bleu

On Friday, June 6, 2014, the day began with paragliding offered by Azurtech in the heights of Saint-Leu. After landing on the white sand beach facing the lagoon, the tourism professionals enjoyed a lunch at Manta in Saint-Gilles-les-Bains.

This second session brought together DMCs from Connections Meeting, Papangue Tours, and Bourbon Tourism, and hotel establishments Tama Hotel and Boucan Canot, as well as the Tourist Office Intercommunal du Nord, and representatives of ESRD.

On Thursday, June 26, 2014, the group went to Far Far Krรฉol at the Villa Bagatelle for a culinary workshop where participants tried their hand at making pepper candy, tomatoes rougail, curry smoked calabash massale tuna, pumpkin sweet poached green tea with vanilla and cinnamon, spring rolls with goat cheese, and pineapple. After enjoying their preparations and curries cooked over a wood fire, these professionals continued on their journey to the forest of Diore. At the end of the day, eductour participants made a stopover at Nautilus for the night.

On Friday, June 27, 2014, the O Sea Blue center invited the participants to dive from the port of Saint-Gilles-les-Bains, and there was time to share their impressions as participants continued on their way to the Manta restaurant. It is on this note that this second session came to an end, achieving what Reunion Island Tourism had anticipated for this journey โ€“ a time of discovery that enabled local tourism professionals to gain a better understanding of tourism products of the island.
