Crimea is not only a well-known travel and tourism destination. Now besides tourists, this Russian holiday resort takes in 300 refugees from Ukraine’s southeastern regions on a daily basis.

Crimea’s Fist Deputy Prime Minister Mikhail Sheremet told local media:
that about 7,000 refugees from Ukraine had been registered in Crimea, where they are offered temporary accommodation in 40 locations, including the cities of Alushta, Yevpatoria and Kerch and the Saki region.

“I would not say the inflow has grown or decreased,” he said. “A daily average is 200-300 people. Those are people who get registered. Many refugees have not applied to the migration service yet.”

Within several past days, about 800 refugees took EMERCOM’s planes to travel from Crimea to Russia’s other cities.

On June 28, EMERCOM transported 250 people from Simferopol to Mineralnye Vody (North Caucasus). Medical staff, including psychologists, accompanies the refugees.
