A passenger jet carrying approximately 150 tourists from Belfast to Barcelona had to make an emergency landing at Cork Airport late last night due to a suspected fuel leak.

A passenger jet carrying approximately 150 tourists from Belfast to Barcelona had to make an emergency landing at Cork Airport late last night due to a suspected fuel leak.

The pilot on the Boeing 737-300 declared an emergency shortly after the plane left from Northern Ireland and diverted to Cork.

The Cork Airportโ€™s emergency plan was put into place to guide the plane to safety, and the aircraft landed safely just after 11.45pm.

The chartered plane is operated by Irish company Air Contractors.
