NEW ORLEANS, LA - Harrah's New Orleans Casino & Hotel has announced it will close today, August 30, due to the approach of Hurricane Gustav. The casino closed at 2 p.m. CST, while the hotel will close by 4 p.m. CST.

"The safety of our customers and employees is our highest priority," said Jim Hoskins, senior vice president and general manager of Harrah's New Orleans.

Customers and employees may log on to www.harrahs.com for the latest information on the status of the property. Employees are urged to maintain contact through the company's toll-free emergency line, 1-888-488-OPEN (6736). Customers may call 1-800-HARRAHS for information and assistance with reservations.
