AIRCON RED: US Capitol evacuated after plane invaded DC air space

The US Capitol was briefly evacuated on Saturday afternoon after the Capitol went to AIRCON RED at 1:36 pm Eastern Time.

The US Capitol was briefly evacuated on Saturday afternoon after the Capitol went to AIRCON RED at 1:36 pm Eastern Time. A plane was 3 to 4 minutes out in restricted airspace and not responding to communication. With set security procedures this forced evacuation.

FInally the pilot of the small plane responded and landed the plane in Virginia without incident.

The evacuation order for the US Capitol was canceled and routine operation continuted.

The US Secret Service and USCP will interview the pilot who is on the ground in Culpeper, Virginia.
