Accepting the award

โ€œSeychelles is highly reputed in the Korean market for higher-end honeymoon destinations, and we are now trying to expand the market to affordable family holidays, niche, and MICE travels while maintaining the luxury image of it. Thus, we tried to incorporate these various needs into our promotion at the KOTFA,โ€ said Ms. Julie Kim, the Regional Manager of Seychelles Tourist Office, Korea & Japan.

The Seychelles Tourism Board received attention by a number of Korean media, that was interviewed and covered by MK Newspaper (the no.1 daily business newspaper in Korea), KOTFA Daily, Asia News Agency, Tour Korea, The Travel Times, and The Travel Information Newspaper, to name but a few.

At the closing ceremony on June 1, Seychelles won the Best Publicity Award from KOTFA for its proactive promotional activities for media and KOTFA visitors.

Mrs. Nathalie Didon, Deputy CEO, said: โ€œIt was with honor that I received the award on behalf of the Seychelles Tourism Board. Through KOTFA, I could feel that Seychellesโ€™ visibility has been well established, and the awareness of Seychelles in the Korean market is high and has great potential.โ€

โ€œI would like to congratulate the proactive work and efforts of STO Korea, the STB staff, and our loyal partners, and we ensure more support is given to further enhance the visibility for attracting more Korean visitors to our shores in the years to come,โ€ Mrs. Didon added.

KOTFA is the largest and oldest consumer and trade fair in South Korea, which this year was attended by around 500 organizations from 57 countries and visited by over 120,000 people. Seychelles is emerging rapidly in the Korean market as one of the top 3 most-wanted destinations for honeymoon and family holidays followed by Cancun and Mauritius.
