An Event Six Years in the Making

Over the last 6 years, NTD Television’s International Chinese Culinary Competition has become a significant outdoor cultural event in Times Square. The competition brings together the most recognized Chinese master chefs from around the world over two days.

Building on this success, NTD partnered with Epoch Times to create Taste Asia and launch Asian Restaurant Month—expanding its focus on Asian food and culture.

Asian Restaurant Month

May 16 through June 30

Asian Restaurant Month involves the best local Asian restaurants, celebrating the month with special food deals, traditional family recipes, and exclusive off-menu dishes. The Taste Asia luxury magazine, media campaigns, website, and social media promotions will generate keen interest in Asian food and culture. New Yorkers will be enticed to discover new and exciting dining destinations in the city with their Taste Asia Pass.

Diners can experience the best of Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Indian, Thai, Malaysian, and other cuisines during this limited time. The Taste Asia website lists the participating restaurants and special offers www.tasteasia.org

Asian Restaurant Month will also include a multi-day event in Times Square that will include top chefs, cook-offs, and culinary treats from Asia.

International Chinese Culinary Competition

June 25–26, Times Square

With a mission to revive traditional Chinese culinary techniques, the 6th International Chinese Culinary Competition brings together traditional Chinese chefs from around the world to compete for the gold medal and $10,000 in cash prizes in 5 cuisine categories: Cantonese, Huaiyang, Northeastern, Sichuan, and Shandong.

Taste Asia in Times Square

June 25–26, Times Square

Top chefs from various Asian countries will gather at NTD’s kitchen stadium in Times Square to showcase the ultimate in Asian cooking. Cultural performances featuring different Asian traditions will entertain from center stage.

Location: 43rd & 44th St. at Broadway

June 25: 11 a.m.–midnight

June 26: 11 a.m.–8 p.m.
