KYOTO, Japan – Following a series of recent announcements, including the opening of Nijo Castle for business events, the refurbishment of the Rohm Theatre and the addition of significant new space at the National Museum; Kyoto Convention Bureau will be showcasing the city’s fast growing meetings and events offering on stand B480 at IMEX 2014.

Kyoto Convention Bureau, international marketing co-ordinator, James Widgren said: “Kyoto has seen significant growth in its business events offering over the course of the last two years. This has included a number of high profile international hotels, including the Ritz Carlton and Four Seasons as well as a significant number of venues capable of holding anything from a small private dinner to huge association event. IMEX is the ideal place to demonstrate this offering and promote Kyoto’s growth to the global meetings industry.

Specific new properties include:

· Nijo Castle – built in 1602 by Tokugawa Ieyasu, the venue will be available for gala dinners, drinks receptions and parties

· Rohm Theatre – will be reopened in January 2016 as a venue for medium to large sized conference and meeting

· The National Museum –perfectly located to make use of the city’s excellent meetings and events infrastructure, including the Kyoto Hyatt, which is located opposite the museum.
