Hay Creek Hotels announced today that they have been selected to manage the new Canandagua Finger Lakes Resort and Spa.

The upscale independent resort is currently under development with plans to open in the spring of 2015. The resort will consist of 111 guest rooms and suites as well as 47 luxury waterfront condominiums. The property is located in the heart of Canandaigua, N.Y. on 5.5 acres of land that overlooks the north shore of Canandaigua Lake. The town of Canandaigua is situated one hour east of Syracuse. The lake is the 4th largest of the Finger Lakes and is a recognized destination for tourism and leisure travel and is also home to several award winning wine vineyards.

The resort will feature a destination waterfront restaurant and patio; 12,000 square feet of meeting facilities; a state-of-the-art spa facility and fitness center; as well as indoor and outdoor pools. The guest rooms, restaurant and meeting facilities will have spectacular southerly views of Canandaigua Lake.

The resort will offer public docks for guests and for those visiting the restaurant and outdoor bar by boat. The resort also owns and operates the “Canandaigua Lady” a 19th century replica double deck paddle wheel steamboat that will offer cruises for tourists and guests as well as special private events.

“Hay Creek is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the owners of this project to develop a true destination style resort,” stated Norman MacLeod, Founder and President of Hay Creek, “The location lends itself perfectly to develop a small upscale destination resort that can provide a superior level of product and guest service while respecting and remaining indigenous to the Canandaigua area.”

The resort will be a careful blend of contemporary and lodge style design with accents in keeping with Canandaigua’s rich cultural history. The restaurant will feature a culinary arts kitchen, with plans to offer culinary and wine seminars for guests.

Founded in 2005, Hay Creek Hotels combines veteran hospitality industry experience with fully integrated management systems and technology that were uniquely designed for the small upscale property. Hay Creek specializes in the development and management of independent full service hotels, inns and resorts in the 35 to 225 room range, throughout the eastern United States.
