Fourteen flights into Abu Dhabi this morning are being diverted to other airports in the region due to unexpected fog at the airport.

The fog significantly reduced the number of aircraft that could land each hour between 6 am and 8 am.

The flights were diverted to Al Ain, Al Bateen and Al Maktoum International Airport in the UAE. They will re-position back to Abu Dhabi when they have re-fuelled and the fog has cleared.

As a result Etihad is anticipating delays to departures for the rest of the day.

Passengers are advised to contact the Etihad Airways Contact Centre on +971 (0) 2599 0000 or visit the Etihad Airways website at www.etihad.com for more information on the status of flights in and out of Abu Dhabi Airport.
