TOKYO, Japan – JAL Group (JAL) announced today, the passenger traffic forecast for the annual Japanese “Golden Week” vacation that spans 12 days this year from Friday, April 25 to Tuesday, May 6, 2013.
Capacity during this period is 5.4% more on international routes and 3.1% lower on domestic routes compared to 2013. The number of reservations on JAL’s international flights is currently 277,214 while domestically, bookings have reached 909,683 to date. These represent an increase in the number of international bookings by 9.4% and a decrease in the number of domestic bookings by 1.9% respectively against the same vacation period last year.
The total passenger reservations on international JAL flights to all regions have increased approximately 9.0%, and the seat factor increased by around three percentage points due to rapid growth in demand on routes to resort destinations like as Hawaii and Guam etc. compared to 2013, and including long-haul Transpacific and Europe routes on where revamped seats have been introducing.
