Focuses On Distribution Issues Facing The Travel Industry in A Tough Economy

WASHINGTON, DC (August 13, 2008) - Registration for the October 2008 CASMA Conference in Auckland is now open. Conference dates are October 13-17 at the Hyatt Regency Auckland. Registration can be completed online at www.casma.org.

Strategic sessions will feature further keynotes from industry executives focusing on the necessary tools to stay competitive in this changing marketplace. Leading off the conference, join Deputy CEO Norm Peterson, Air New Zealand, as he highlights the successes and challenges that Air New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific region have faced.

The Computerized Airline Sales and Marketing Association (CASMA) is hosting CASMA University, an Introduction to Airline Distribution that is being offered as an exclusive course, developed by CASMA and offered exclusively to CASMA members and conference participants. This course targets individuals new to airline distribution and offers updates on the ever-changing distribution space. Additionally, new courses in the CASMA University curriculum have been developed and include An Introduction to Airline Data, Basics of Revenue Management and a fourth offering that reviews the background of Settlement and Reporting in the industry.

Monday, October 13 will feature the CASMA University courses and the opening evening reception. Tuesday, October 14 will feature keynote sessions, an opening panel session with industry experts and analysts that will challenge the workings of the industry today. The day will continue with panels and workshops focusing on the changes in distribution and what the future holds.
