Argentina, Brazil and Venezuela plan to form a regional airline. The plan may have been formulated from the moment the Argentine government took control of Aerolineas Argentinas, which was under control of Spanish capital until last July.

Ten Rivers & Ten Lakes adds 7 new establishments
The chain of boutique hotels and lodges Ten Rivers & Ten Lakes incorporated 3 establishments in Argentina and 4 in Brazil, in conjunction with their associates of the Brazilian chain Circuito Elegante. With these incorporations, which are added to another 3 in Corrientes, there are a total of 77 establishments in the best touristic destinations in both countries.

Encotur 2008 will be held in October
In Encotur-Tourism Fair of Uruguay- there will be references about the industry, and the main wholesale operators of Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay will be present. It will be held on October 13th and 14th at the Radisson Victoria Plaza Hotel. Tour Operators, Transport Companies, Tourism Offices, Hotels, Car Rentals, Travel Assistance, Organization of Events, Official Organizations, Travel Agencies, Organizers of Conferences and Incentives and Media will participate in the fair etc.

Air Comet temporarily suspends direct flights between Chile-Madrid
Air Comet will suspend its direct flights between Madrid and Santiago as from August 31st, and they will be offered with a stopover in Buenos Aires both ways, as informed by the airline. During September the viability of this itinerary will be evaluated in order to take a decision. At present, Air Comet flies to Bogota, Buenos Aires, Guayaquil, La Habana, Lima, Quito and San Jose, in Latin America, as well as to London and Paris, from Madrid.

Tourists will donate US$ 1 for environmental protection
Tourists who visit the Amazon area will be invited to make a donation of US$ 1 for each night they stay in the area and those resources will be aimed to finance protective plans for the environment, as disclosed by an entity of the sector on Friday. The agreement was signed with a large network of hotels from the Amazons, which will transmit the proposal to their guests.

Tam will link Rio and Miami from September
The airline started to sell its new daily route between Rio de Janeiro and Miami. The operations, which will be carried out with a Boeing 767/300 ER, will begin on September 19th.

Report in Amazons of a waterfall that would exceed the height of Gocta
A waterfall that would exceed the 771 meters possessed by Gocta was sighted near an estate of the village of San Antonio, in the province of Uctubamba. Said waterfall forms the ravine named Honda. To arrive at the site it is necessary to first pass through the village of San Antonio until arriving at a path that is accessible by car and then through a walk lasting 3 hours. On the other hand, an ancient stone citadel has been discovered in the midst of the vegetation of the village of Acapulco, in the district of Cajaruro, province of Uctubamba. In the citadel, which extends itself in a 5km radius, 59 gravesites have been discovered with funerary remains in a good state of conservation, ceramic items of different sizes, carved stone tools, among other objects.

Site Museum in Paracas will be reconstructed
The INC and the Spanish cultural center announced the call for tenders to execute the whole project including the construction, expansion and equipment of the Julio C. Tello site Museum of Paracas. Said project is financed by the Agencia Española para la Cooperacion Internacional y el Desarrollo (AECID) (Spanish Agency for International Cooperation and Development), channeled through the Hispano-Peruvian Cooperation Fund (Fonchip).

Copa Airlines increases its daily flights from Lima to Panama
Copa Airlines stated that from August 11th a fourth daily frequency to Panama City will be offered. The airline made this announcement as part of an aggressive growth plan using its Hub of the Americas in Panama City as connection center with the rest of the continent.

Jose Antonio chain begins construction of 4-star hotel in Miraflores
In December, the hotel chain Jose Antonio will begin the construction of its third 4-star hotel, located in a lot half a block from Pardo Avenue, in Miraflores, as part of its expansion plan in the country. At the beginning of the year, the company informed that it would begin said project in the first days of April, which would be subsequent to the inauguration of its hotel in Puno last March.

Copa has new destinations
From December, Copa Airlines will fly to Valencia, in Venezuela, Oranjestad, in Aruba, and Santa Cruz, in Bolivia, the company’s first destination in said country. Along with Puerto España, in Trinidad and Tobago and Belo Horizonte, in Brazil, Copa will end 2008 with 5 new destinations in its network. It also announced that 6 new aircrafts will integrate the fleet of Copa Airlines which will amount to 43 aircrafts: 28 Boeing 737 and 15 Embraer.

Continental Airlines inaugurates new Queretaro-Houston flight
Continental Airlines will increase from 1 to 2 flights per day on the Queretaro-Houston route, which has been operating for more than 3 years. The occupancy rate is 90%, and because of this the company authorized one more flight frequency in view of the closing down of Delta on August 2nd. The new flights will begin when the new aircrafts are available.

Two-floor touristic buses tour La Habana
Two-floor touristic buses offer a new perspective of touristic transport. On board a second floor of a roofless bus painted red and blue, Cuban and foreign tourists will be able to tour the most important places of the city and explore its mixture of Afro culture, life-style suspended in time and modern advances.
