VAIL, CO – This summer America’s Best Summer Job is in Vail, Colo. The community is seeking an adventure-minded mountain enthusiast who wants to bike, hike, go to concerts, participate in events, dine in great restaurants, stay in five-star hotels and get paid for it. The online contest to find the America’s Best Summer Job winner kicks off this week at blog.vail.com/Americas-best-summer-job-vail-co and the 10-week program begins on June 2.

“Vail is truly a destination like nothing on earth,” said Beth Slifer, chair of the Vail Local Marketing District Advisory Council, which is responsible for creating economic vitality in Vail during the spring, summer and fall. “We wanted to create a program that enlivens the special experience guests have when they visit our community. Having the winner work, live and play in our mountain playground is just our way of bringing the destination to life.”

America’s Best Summer Job runs June 2 through Aug. 10. The winner of America’s Best Summer Job will be paid $1,000 weekly to experience all of Vail in the summertime while simply sharing his/her experiences by blogging, interacting on social media, capturing videos and more. The winner will stay in a different luxury lodging property each week, participate in events such as the GoPro Mountain Games and KEEN Vail Kids Adventure Race, zipline down Vail Mountain, review restaurants throughout Lionshead and Vail Village, as well as host happy hour events, work in the Welcome Center and more. In addition to the weekly $1,000 stipend, the winner of America’s Best Summer Job will receive a GoPro camera and a swag bag filled with Vail gear.

Vail’s inaugural America’s Best Summer Job search kicks off on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 with an online contest at blog.vail.com/Americas-best-summer-job-vail-co. Contestants must submit a one-minute video illustrating why they should be selected for America’s Best Summer Job. The top 10 contestants with the most online votes by midnight on March 31, 2014 will be invited to participate in a final round of interviews where the winner will be selected. Contestants must be 21 years of age or older to enter. Please visit the Rules & Regulations section of the contest for more details.

America’s Best Summer Job submissions are designed to be shared via email and social media to encourage contestants to utilize their networks to garner votes. A panel of community representatives will conduct the final round of interviews the week of April 21 via Skype. The winner of the contest will be announced on April 30.
