The town of Palm Beach ranks among the Top 10 most expensive Floridian destinations, based on the cost of lodging. According to a new survey conducted by TravelMag.com, the coastal city came in seventh among all Florida locales.

The survey specifically compared the hotel rates of all destinations in Florida. The February through March time period, which can be considered the high season for most beach destinations in the state, served as the basis of comparison. In Palm Beach, travelers will have to spend an average of $246 per night for the most affordable double room, positioning the town seventh most expensive overall.

Meanwhile, Delray Beach revealed itself to be the most expensive destination in the state, with an average overnight rate of $298. Only slightly cheaper are the barrier islands of Sanibel Island and Siesta Key. Ranking second and third most expensive on the survey, these locales posted average nightly rates of $296 and $284, respectively.

The following table lists the 10 most expensive destinations in Florida. The rates indicated reflect the average rate for the cheapest available double room (minimum: 3-star hotel) at each locale for the time period spanning February 1 through March 31, 2014.
