Two of the world’s leading aviation routes organizations are strengthening their joint sisterhood by adding a new executive to one of their teams. ASM, the leading global route development consultancy, and Routes, organizers of the world’s leading air service development events and digital platform, are both part of UBM Live and have been sister teams for over 20 years.

Nigel Mayes has been appointed to the new role of Senior Vice President Consulting & Product Development at ASM, the sister team to Routes that provides air service development consultancy and services.

David Stroud, Director ASM at UBM Live, said: “The fantastic experience, profile and network that Nigel has developed during his time at Routes will offer new perspectives to ASM as we enter a new era through his relationships, commercial and product development skills. We look forward to having Nigel on board and to continuing to work closely with our sister team at Routes.”

“Routes and ASM already collaborate closely, and Nigel’s new role will further strengthen the ties between the two teams,” said Katie Bland, Director Routes at UBM Live: “Routes is currently recruiting for a new Head of Content and Industry Relations and this appointment will further strengthen UBM Live’s existing route development expertise and will add new insight to both our event and digital content, our industry relations and partnerships.”

Nigel has 15 years’ experience in the aviation industry, having previously worked for Birmingham International Airport, followed by a 6 year period at ASM as a consultant. Five years ago Nigel moved to Routes to drive the commercial success of the organization, which today organizes World Routes – the world’s largest air service development event that assembles the world’s airlines, airports and stakeholders to negotiate air service; a portfolio of market-leading Routes regional forums and Routesonline – the leading digital route development platform.

Nigel, who is moving into his new role at ASM in March, commented on his appointment: “I’m proud to have played a key role in the development of Routes to support the needs of the global air service development community and am looking forward to the new challenge with the team at ASM to provide world-class route development for ASM’s ever growing list of global clients.”
