Peruvians and Columbians may travel visa free to Europe, will the US follow?

Getting a VISA to the United States of America or European Union countries remain a difficult task. Many apply for visas, purchase expensive travel packages and get denied.

Getting a VISA to the United States of America or European Union countries remain a difficult task. Many apply for visas, purchase expensive travel packages and get denied. The example of the EU may no longer requiring visas for visitors from Peru and Colombia could come with a US$2 billion reward and an increase of half a million tourists from the Andean nation – and increase of 150%

Schengen visa requirements for Peruvians and Colombians could be lifted by April this year after the European Council approves Peru for visa-free travel.

Opening the Schengen area of Europe to Colombian and Peruvian citizens will generate billions of dollars for the European tourism sector, reports indicate.

The average Peruvian tourists in Europe would stay for 10 to 15 days in the Schengen area and would spend between US$3,000 and US$4,000 during their trip.

500,000 people spending US$3,000 to US$4,000 would contribute a sizable amount of money into the European economies.

This could convince a lot of Peruvians to no longer try so hard to get a VISA for the US – and Brand USA may think about lobbying for visa waiver status from these two booming South American economies.
