RIYADH, Saudi Arabia – The year 2014 will witness a fresh boom in the tourism sector in the Kingdom, said Saudi Commission For Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) President Prince Sultan Bin Salman, on Monday.
The prince was speaking at the Seventh Global Competitiveness Forum which concluded in Riyadh on Monday. He was making the keynote address at a session on โ€œ Developing the Appeal of a Destinationโ€ at the forum.

The chairman said that the tourism and heritage sector enjoys the support and patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah to develop the sector for the benefit of the nation. Accordingly, he said SCTA would exert all its efforts to improve this sector.

Describing it as the second largest sector to provide employment opportunities, he said some 751,000 people have been employed in the sector in the year 2012. He predicted that this sector would eventually become the largest sector to employ the highest number of workers in the country.
