New Ljubljana tourist destination website
The Ljubljana Tourist Board launched a new website for the tourist destination of Ljubljana which enables users to plan out their visit to the capital. The www.visitljubljana.si website showcases tourism products and services in Ljubljana and 23 neighboring municipalities, with the capital as the starting point for discovering the rest of Slovenia.
The content of the new web portal is enhanced by an integrated tourist map, and users can use a virtual guide to save the information they find interesting to personal user accounts. The portal is more than just a source of information on trips, cultural events and other activities; tourists and locals can easily book a Ljubljana hotel or buy a Ljubljana Card tourist pass online.
Sales of tickets to events, booking of all types of accommodation, registration for guided city tours and short trips outside Ljubljana are planned, too. Plans for the future also include the development of web pages optimised for mobile phones and PDAs. Portal users will soon have the opportunity to exchange tips and opinions about Ljubljana's tourism offer.
Previously, tourists got the information they were looking for on the tourist web pages of the City of Ljubljana, at http://www.ljubljana.si/en/. This website will stay up and running, as its maps and events programs are very popular among visitors.
