The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre hosted a cocktail reception on 3 December to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (“HKCEC”). Over 1,000 clients, business associates, government officials and friends joined HML’s senior management executives and staff on this special occasion.

In her remarks, Managing Director of HML, Ms Monica Lee-Müller thanked all clients and business partners for their support, “We are fortunate to be entrusted to manage a magnificent building located in the heart of Hong Kong. We take pride in serving expanding recurrent exhibitions and introducing new events to our portfolio over the past 25 years. Over the 25 years, HML has served over 42,000 events and more than 80 million visitors. These events have contributed significant economic benefits to Hong Kong by not only nourishing Hong Kong’s event industry, but also generating beneficial spin-offs for the tourism, transportation, food and beverage and entertainment industries.”

In celebration of HKCEC’s 25th anniversary, HML has produced a designated mini-website http://www.hkcec-25th-anniversary.com/en/ featuring milestones of the HKCEC, and celebration activities for HML staff members, clients and partners, as well as the general public of Hong Kong, etc.

HML’s corporate video “Asia’s Best Hong Kong’s Pride” was premiered during the cocktail reception to highlight the professionalism, commitment and vision of HML as the professional private management company of the HKCEC. The video received a round of applause from the guests and is now available on www.hkcec.com, www.facebook.com/HKCECofficial, and www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJA9CJwtohU&feature=youtu.be

During the cocktail reception, it was announced that the HKCEC has been voted “Asia’s Best Convention and Exhibition Centre” for the 11th time by the readers of CEI Asia in the annual ‘CEI Industry Survey’.

Ms Lee-Müller said, “2013 is a special and fruitful year for the HKCEC and HML. We continued to bring new events and organisers to Hong Kong. Being named ‘Asia’s Best Convention and Exhibition Centre’ in the CEI Industry Survey for the 11th time is the most meaningful gift for HKCEC’s 25th birthday. Earlier in October, the HKCEC received the “Best Convention & Exhibition Centre” title for the fifth time in the 24th Annual TTG Travel Awards 2013.”

She continued, “These are the most credible recognitions that HML can receive. Being the long standing winner of these two prestigious awards, we are humble yet proud to receive continued support from our clients and industry colleagues. HML will continue to strive for excellence, contributing further to Hong Kong’s economy and international reputation.”
