Tango On Board is a new touristic proposal
Tango On Board is a new, totally innovative touristic project in the country, especially for tourists and aims at the corporate sector. It proposes a tour in the El Galileo craft.

Aerolineas Argentinas signed state transfer
The Government and the Spanish group Marsans officialized the transfer to the State of the company Aerolineas Argentinas and its subsidiary Austral. The signing of the minutes of the agreement took place in the Ministry of Federal Planning and establishes the transfer of 94.41 percent of the shares of Aerolineas and 97 percent of the shares of Austral.

Lan Argentina will fly to Sidney on a shared code with Qantas
LAN will market 3 direct weekly frequencies between Buenos Aires and Sydney in flights operated by Qantas in a shared code agreement. The flights of the Australian company –also member of oneworld- are foreseen to begin on November 24th with Boeing 747/400 and wait for the approval of the authorities from both countries.

Air Comet temporarily suspends its flights to Balmaceda
Air Comet Chile suspended its flights to Temuco and Balmaceda. In a corporate communiqué, it points out that the measure is temporary, due to the bad weather conditions that have been detrimental to the normal development of its operations in both cities, to which the increase in fuel costs has also been added.

Rio de Janeiro Wi-fi free in Copacabana
Rio de Janeiro put into practice an initiative which enables tourists to enjoy wireless connection to internet “with a view to the sea” from Copacabana. Although for now only a part of the beach is serviced by the connection, the initiative intends for the whole of the state of Rio de Janeiro to have coverage next year.

LAN increases frequencies to Australia
LAN will fly from Brasil to Australia in just 19 hours and 45 minutes. With 3 weekly frequencies, the operation will begin on November 24th from Guarulhos, in Sao Paulo.

Air China will cease to fly to the country in September
Air China informed that it will suspend its direct operation between Sao Paulo and Madrid as from September 14th, waiting to recommence the operation in the first quarter of next year.

LAB will fly as from July 31st
LAB will once again operate as from July 31st with regular flights in domestic routes. The airline already has the corresponding authorization to fly these routes.

Machu Picchu and Tipon distinguished as the maximum expressions of civil engineering
The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) distinguished the citadel of Machu Picchu and the archaeological complex of Tipon as International Monuments of Civil Engineering.

Ancash Tello Obelsik returned to Chavin after 9 decades
The Tello Obelisk is once again in Chavin de Huantar, after remaining in Lima during approximately 90 years. After a special treatment, it has been moved to the recently inaugurated National Museum of Chavin and will be exhibited shortly.

LAN PERU will fly Lima-Cajamarca-Lima
On September 1st, LAN Peru will inaugurate the routes Lima-Cajamarca-Lima. It will be with a direct flight in the morning operated by modern Airbus 310 aircraft.

Galapagos Islands receive award “To the World’s Best Group of Islands” (“Al Mejor Conjunto de Islas del Mundo”)
The Galapagos Islands received the award from the prestigious North American magazine “Travel & Leisure, “To the World’s Best Group of Islands” and “To the Best Group of Islands of Mexico, Central and South America”.

Cuenca Airport will close during the first two weeks of September
The Mariscal Lamar airport will close its operations for 15 days in the first week of September for the reconstruction of the highway. With the new restructuring of the air terminal the optimum functioning of the same is foreseen during the next 10 years.

Government suspends operations of 2 airlines
The Mexican Government decided to suspend the operations of the airlines California and ExpressJet, service provider for the North American Continental Airlines and Delta Airlines, for not verifying the royalties.

La Mar Restaurants– Lan and Orient Express promote Peru
La Mar Restaurants – Lan – Orient-Express Peru will hold until August 21st the promotion in which for each US$ 500 in meals the diners will receive a coupon with a question and will participate to win a trip to Peru; LAN will award 2 air tickets in Business Class and Orient Express 2 nights in the “Miraflores Park” hotel in Lima and 3 in “Las Casitas del Colca.”

Copa Airlines will simplify charging system for excess luggage
Copa Airlines announced that as from September 1st it will simplify its charging system for excess luggage, as the same fare will be charged to and from all destinations with the exception of Brazil and the United States.
