DFW Airport welcomes new Qatar Airways service to Doha

DFW AIRPORT, TX – Qatar Airways today announced new daily international service from Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport to Doha, Qatar, starting on July 1, 2014.

DFW AIRPORT, TX – Qatar Airways today announced new daily international service from Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport to Doha, Qatar, starting on July 1, 2014. The Dallas/Fort Worth route will be operated with the airline’s flagship Boeing 777-200LR aircraft, which features a two-class design with Business and Economy class seats.

“The arrival of Qatar Airways at DFW next year marks more tremendous news for our region and for our Airport, as we welcome another highly regarded international carrier to DFW,” said Sean Donohue, chief executive officer at DFW Airport. “The new service from Qatar Airways will create more opportunities for business and leisure travel into the Middle East, and it positions DFW Airport for more international passenger growth.”

With this announcement, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport now serves a total of 205 destinations, with Doha becoming DFW’s 57th international destination. The addition of Qatar Airways further extends DFW’s record expansion of air service, in which the Airport has added 22 new international destinations and nine new airline partners in the past three years.

Qatar Airways offers travelers connections from Doha to more than 100 destinations across the Middle East, India, Africa and Asia. The DFW service is part of Qatar’s expansion of service into the United States, where it currently serves four destinations. DFW will be Qatar’s seventh U.S. destination.

“Qatar Airways is the newest oneworld alliance member and we welcome them to DFW,” said Luis Perez, vice president for air service development at DFW Airport. “This announcement demonstrates the strength of the Dallas/Fort Worth region in attracting major international carriers, and fills a growing need of the local business community to travel to the Middle East, India, Africa and Asia.”

Qatar Airways officially joined the oneworld Alliance in October of this year. DFW Airport is the world’s largest oneworld Alliance hub airport because it is home to American Airlines, a founding partner of oneworld. Passengers traveling on Qatar Airways can enjoy oneworld frequent flier benefits including mileage redemption, seamless ticketing with baggage checked in all the way through to final destination.

Qatar Airways’ Business Class product was ranked the “World’s Best Business Class” at the Skytrax World Airline Awards this year in Paris.
