Oct 29, 2013
BOSTON, Mass. – Vantage Deluxe World Travel is extending their thanks to approximately 114 Boston heroes by offering a free 11-day cruise through the South of France aboard the ms River Discovery II. Inspired by the displays of courage and kindness after the Boston Marathon bombings, Vantage Deluxe World Travel staff and crew wanted to give back to these heroes as an expression of gratitude. Each of the heroes is invited to bring along one guest as a companion for this memorable luxury cruise, departing December 11th and returning December 21st, just before the holiday season.
This group of 114 Boston heroes is comprised of families of the Boston Marathon victims (both deceased and seriously injured) and first responders (EMTs, police and fire). The River Discovery II offers an intimate cruising experience conducive to relaxation, camaraderie and rejuvenation for up to 176 passengers.
This exclusive, one date only vacation includes round-trip international airfare between Boston and Paris, home from Marseille, with deluxe stateroom accommodations for nine nights (passengers lose an evening on the Transatlantic flight from Boston to Paris). The trip includes meals and complimentary wine with dinner, along with daily sightseeing and cultural activities.
The cruise meanders through the Saone and Rhone river valleys, with port calls at Provencal highlights such as Avignon, Chateauneuf-duPape, Arles, Viviers, and more. Guests will visit three UNESCO World Heritage sites (Arles, Avignon, and the Pont du Gard) as well as an array of Vantage Cultural Connections: cooking demonstrations, wine tastings, local interaction, and lectures. Guests will also enjoy ©Vantage Travel Lifestyle features such as a pub crawl and onboard entertainment. In addition to the cruise and air travel, all taxes and port charges, transfers and baggage handling are complimentary for these special guests.
One of the benefits of river cruising is the intimate size and luxurious style of the ship, better suited for talking with others about shared experiences.
“We hope that this vacation will give these Boston heroes a well-deserved break, and a chance to connect with other inspirational people who may understand the experiences they have gone through,” said Kevin Wallace, COO of Vantage Deluxe World Travel. “The south of France is one of our most popular destinations, so we felt this was a wonderful way for our company to show our support and express our pride in Boston’s tremendous spirit.”
