Mauritius VP joins Seychelles Tourism Minister on popular TV program

Mme. Monique Agnes Ohsan Bellepeau, the Vice President of the Republic of Mauritius, and Mr. Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, were jointly guests on the popular television show โ€œNews Extraโ€ of the Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation (SBC).

Mr. Michael Payet, the popular and respected SBC news presenter, was the host of the News Extra program which was aired on Thursday, October 24. Mr. Payet was also the one to welcome the Mauritius Vice President and the Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture to the SBC’s Hermitage Television Studio.

Mme. Monique Agnes Ohsan Bellepeau, the Vice President of the Republic of Mauritius, is among the official dignitaries who are in Seychelles from the Indian Ocean Islands for the 2013 Festival Kreol. The other members of the official dignitaries include President Didier Robert, the President of the region La Reunion; Mrs. Nassimah Dindar, the President of the General Council of La Reunion; and Mme. Rose De Lima Edouard, Commissaire de la culture of the island of Rodrigues.

The Mauritian Vice President and the Seychelles Minister spoke about the need to consolidate cultural tourism as a key element for the growth of tourism in the region. Both also talked about the diversity of the people of the region and described this as a strength in itself.

This is the first visit of Mme. Monique Agnes Ohsan Bellepeau, the Vice President of the Republic of Mauritius, to the Seychelles, and she spoke on camera in the News Extra program about the warm welcome she has received from the Seychelles authorities.
