The Seychelles Tourism Board, in partnership with the island’s DMC 7 Degrees South, participated at the Magical Kenya Travel Expo in Nairobi from October 18-20, 2013. Over 150 international buyers visited the show, and it is said that it is the biggest trade show in Africa after INDABA.

President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya officially opened the tourism trade fair. The President met with Marsha Parcou, the Seychelles Tourism Board Manager for Africa, and took time to visit the Seychelles stand. “We were privileged that the President visited our stand. He expressed his wish to visit Seychelles next year together with the newly-appointed Tourism Cabinet Secretary Mrs. Phyllis Kandie,” said Marsha Parcou, the Seychelles Tourism Board Manager who is based in Pretoria and holds the responsibility for Africa.

Marsha Parcou also believes that the time is right to invite Kenya tourism to participate in the 2014 edition of the Carnaval International de Victoria and showcase Kenyan tourism through culture and through the Kenyans. “In that same token, the two countries could further enhance collaboration in the different sectors, particularly in tourism and perhaps tie the pending discussions on an MOU in the field of fourism,” said Marsha Parcou in Kenya.

Popsy Getonge, the Seychelles Tourism Ambassador in Nairobi, Kenya, is responsible for assisting to showcase Seychelles at this Kenya tourism trade fair.
