ALEXANDRIA, VA โ€“ The National Association of Career Travel Agents (NACTA) announced the promotion of Robert Duglin to Vice President of Sales and Industry Relations for NACTA at their annual convention held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida at the Westin Beach Resort & Spa on September 20, 2013.

Duglin joined NACTA as a travel agent member in 2008. He was the founding director of NACTAโ€™s South Florida Chapter which currently numbers 130 NACTA travel professionals. Duglin worked for NACTA on a contract basis to manage NACTAโ€™s educational and seminar at sea program prior to accepting a full time position as Director of Sales and Industry Relations.

Prior to NACTA, Duglin worked as a front line independent travel consultant and previously served in a variety of management positions at American Airlines, DIRECTV Latin America & Club Vacations USA, and is a resident of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Conference attendee members and suppliers showed their overwhelming support with a standing ovation in front of a home town crowd. “As an experienced front line travel professional and former NACTA Chapter Director, Bob understands the needs of our individual members, and has successfully built long term relationships with our supplier & host members,โ€ said President Ann van Leeuwen. โ€He has also been instrumental in strengthening the NACTA chapter program.โ€

NACTA represents 1800 members, including travel consultants, regional directors, chapter directors, host agencies and suppliers. Duglin is responsible for supplier & host agency relationships, management of NACTAโ€™s Region & Chapter Directors, as well as overseeing NACTAโ€™s supplier based education & FAM related programs. โ€œIโ€™m honored by this promotion and grateful for the support and confidence of our community of travel professionals, as well as our important supplier & host partnersโ€ said Robert Duglin. โ€œNACTA offers real community and professional development for the independent travel consultant.โ€
