Buyers from 26 countries attend the Tourism Indonesia Mart & Expo (TIME) 2013 in Padang

Indonesia’s original tourism trade contract mart, TIME this year has buyers from 26 countries who have confirmed participation, among whom are from the U.S.A, the Netherlands, Australia, Belgium, Germany, France, Hungary, Poland, United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Japan, Russia, England, Italy, India, China, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. From Indonesia, already 66 companies including airlines, hotels, resorts and tour operators will be on hand to offer the large diversity of destinations, attractions, activities and flights for tourists around the world. More buyers and sellers are expected to register in the coming days to attend this show.

TIME is the only one of its kind in a B-to-B contract show in Indonesia that brings together international buyers to meet with Indonesian sellers for product and transactional discussions in three days of pre-scheduled appointments.

Burnasman, Head of the Culture and Tourism Office of West Sumatra, assures delegates that all has been prepared for participants to meet their business prospects as well as enjoy their stay in the province. It is hoped that through this event more and more international tourists will come to know and visit this beautiful and friendly land of West Sumatra.

In the past years, West Sumatra has come into the tourism limelight through the successful organization of the annual Tour de Singkarak that take cyclists through some of the most panoramic lakes, gorges and mountains and meet friendly villagers in this land of the Minangkabau.

TIME is organized by the Tourism Society of Indonesia (Masyarakat Pariwisata Indonesia/MPI), which has the full support of various stakeholders including from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the provincial government of West Sumatra, the Association of Travel Agents of Indonesia (ASITA), the Association of Tour Guides of Indonesia, Association of Hotels and Restaurants (PHRI), Garuda Indonesia national Airline, and more.
