In recognizing the increasing importance of young people in the meetings industry, EIBTM and ICCA have increased the allocation for the program this year to 35 young professionals, and they are encouraging those interested to apply.

EIBTM (www.eibtm.com), the leading global event for the meetings and events industry has once again partnered with the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) to deliver The Forum for Young Professionals, which will take place in conference room 5.3 from 9 am-6 pm on Monday, November 18.

The application deadline for The Forum for Young Professionals (FYP) is Friday, September 20. Young professionals (under the age of 30) should be enthusiastic team players with a full-time job in the events business of ICCA member orgnizations and should have no more than 3 yearsโ€™ experience in the Meetings Industry.

To date, the program has received a number of applications from young professionals working in countries including Brazil, Germany, Argentina, India, Austria, Kenya, Belgium, Russia, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom and South Africa.

Hjordรญs Maraa Olafsdottir, Reykjavรญk Convention Bureau, who attended the ICCA FYP in 2012 commented, “The Forum for Young Professionals is by far the best Forum that I have attended so far. The opportunity to meet all these influential people and have a dialogue with them on the industry and its changes is something that is rare for a newcomer. Thank you so much for this opportunity.”

The ICCA Forum for Young Professionals is an initiative that has been developed to reach out and help young meetings professionals to gain a fresh perspective on meetings management and the industry as well as enhance their professional skills and connect and network with peers from around the world.

EIBTM 2013 will take place from November 19-21, a week earlier than in previous years. The EIBTM Forum will take place the day before the exhibition on November 18.
