KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – AirAsia, the world’s best low-cost carrier for five consecutive years, has retained its number one spot in the Top 10 Budget Airlines category of Smart Travel Asia 2013 Best in Travel Poll.

AirAsia, ranked number one in 2012, was chosen based on its significant and distinguishable branding, placing itself at the top of travellers’ minds with its unmistakable presence.

The votes submitted by the Smart Travel Asia readers were majority 70 per cent from Asia, it said in a statement today.

“Strong branding is our forte, but it is only achievable by ensuring utmost satisfaction when guests fly with us as only then, the ultimate goal of brand retention could be achieved,” Group Chief Commercial Officer, Siegtraund Teh, said.

AirAsia has been voted tops in the Best Budget Airline in Asia category since introduced in 2006.

“The carrier would continue to strive hard to ensure that its guests get the best value when flying with AirAsia,” he added.
