MOSCOW, Russia – Far Eastern Airline (Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk) will operate three DHC-6 Twin Otters as part of plans outlined by the governor of Primorski Krai, Vladimir Miklushevski, to better serve the more remote regions of the Russian Far East.
According to Mr Miklushevski, who will buy the aircraft has yet to be decided with a state-funded acquisition also a possibility. However, should the airline acquire the aircraft, then a part of its costs will be compensated for in the form of subsidies, he added.
Ultimately, the aircraft will be owned and operated by Far Eastern Airline, which is being established by Aeroflot (SU, Moscow Sheremetyevo).
