LOS ANGELES, California โ€“ The Movenpick Resort & Residences Aqaba, the Movenpick Resort Tala Bay Aqaba, the Movenpick Resort & Spa Dead Sea all achieved top global sustainability rankings with the Movenpick Resort Petra and Movenpick Nabatean Castle Hotel recording an impressive 91%.

Sustainability has always been at the heart of Movenpick Hotels & Resorts in Jordan, and all five Jordanian properties recently earned Green Globe certification for the third consecutive year. This achievement marks the commitment to sustainable practice excellence โ€“ in line with the corporate philosophy to contribute to a positive future.

โ€œTo accomplish such high rankings this year across all our hotels is a testimony to our employeesโ€™ continuous dedication to best practice,โ€ said Peter Hoesli, General Manager of Movenpick Resort & Spa Dead Sea & Regional Manager, Jordan. โ€œAt Movenpick Hotels & Resorts sustainability is an on-going process and our hotels are constantly challenging themselves to find new ways to improve standards.โ€

Such commitment is illustrated by major investments in the latest energy and water saving technology, and state-of-the-art waste management, as well as comprehensive action to nurture unique environmental and cultural elements in each hotel location.

The Jordanian hotels are no strangers to recognition for excellence: In 2012, Movenpick Resort & Spa Tala Bay, Movenpick Resort & Residences Aqaba and Movenpick Resort & Spa Dead Sea all received a four out of five rating by TripAdvisor. The Dead Sea resort has been voted the best spa in the Middle East for three consecutive years by readers of Conde Nast Traveller and earlier this year it was voted Jordanโ€™s Best Luxury Resort Spa in the World Luxury Spa Awards.

In 2011 both the Movenpick Resort & Residences Aqaba and Movenpick Resort & Spa Tala Bay were awarded Blue Flag status in recognition of their sustainable development of beaches, marinas and water quality, environmental management, education and safety.

The audit for all five Movenpick Hotels & Resorts in Jordan was conducted by Farnek Avireal, lead sustainability consultancy in the MENA region, and a Preferred Green Globe Partner. For additional information please contact Sandrine Le Biavant, e-mail: [email protected]
