With the start of the six-week summer break in three German federal states, Frankfurt Airport (FRA) served almost 570,000 passengers during the past weekend. Despite the increased passenger volume, airport operations ran smoothly on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. โ€œThe first weekend of the summer holidays is usually one of the busiest in Germany. I would like to thank all our staff for their high level of performance and expertise, which enabled passengers to get a relaxed start on their vacation,โ€ said Peter Schmitz, Fraport AGโ€™s Chief Operations Officer (COO). Over the three days, thousands of staff on the apron and in the terminals helped FRA to maintain its high punctually figures and to minimize waiting times for passengers.

On Saturday, July 6, Fraport AG and the German Federal Police organized their eleventh โ€œGoing on Vacation with a Smileโ€ service promotion to make the time before departure more enjoyable, especially for young travelers. More FRA summer attractions await passengers and visitors on the Visitorsโ€™ Terrace of Terminal 2: On the first Sunday of August and September, guests will be able to enjoy the fascinating view of Germanyโ€™s largest airport, listen to Jazz music, and drink freshly squeezed apple juice.

To avoid the stress of the high-traffic summer season, Fraport advises all passengers to arrive early at the airport. Information on the location of your airline counters, early check-in options, low-priced car parking, or details on carry-on luggage can be found on www.frankfurt-airport.com or via the free FRA Airport App.
