The 2013 edition of the holiday festival Sakifo will rendezvous on Reunion Island, this year celebrating its 10th anniversary. For the occasion, the organizers have planned an outstanding musical program reflecting the colors of the world and the Indian Ocean. The event will be held in Saint-Pierre, a city renowned for its lively waterfront and nightlife. The festival will explore the nature of traditional music and culture of Reunion Island while enjoying a sunny holidays, with oneโ€™s feet in the water!

Sakifo in Creole means, “this is what you need!” This festival of world music, along with the diversity and quality of its programming, is the festival which allowed Reunion to rise among the ranks of major international events. Sakifo shows the strength of Reunion through the meeting of different musical universes that unfold for 3 days at St. Peter’s oceanfront.

The 2013 edition brings together artists such as Salif Keita, Selah Sue, and Oxmo Puccino. The Sakifo is also a springboard for the new Reunion Island scene which features future stars of music world music, such as Alain Peters, a promising and upcoming artist.
