AVIAREPS successfully bucks the crisis in the 2007-2008 business year

Despite ongoing consolidation in the airline industry, AVIAREPS AG has reported good results for the 2007/08 business year: the leading international service provider for airline and tourism companies

Despite ongoing consolidation in the airline industry, AVIAREPS AG has reported good results for the 2007/08 business year: the leading international service provider for airline and tourism companies achieved group turnover of โ‚ฌ 70 million. The turnover achieved for AVIAREPS clients stood at around โ‚ฌ 500 million.

โ€œThe airline market is changing in virtually all regions of the world. As a result of mergers and takeovers between airline companies, the cards are being reshuffled. The changes relate not only to individual market sectors such as the low-cost segment, but also to the major national flag carriers. Consolidation in the airline industry also harbors new opportunities for an all-round service provider such as AVIAREPS. Thanks to our flexible service portfolio, we are able, as the figures prove, to maintain a high standard of quality for our customers even in these difficult times,โ€ explained Rainer Kothe, Director of Finance, Law and Human Resources at AVIAREPS AG.

The last business year was characterized primarily by the active expansion of the companyโ€™s tourism marketing division. For this reason, AVIAREPS completed the takeover of two significant market leaders – AVIAREPS Marketing Garden, a leading public relations and marketing agency in the Asia Pacific region specializing in travel companies, and AVIAREPS BrouwerBetist, the largest tourism marketing agency in the Benelux region. Whatโ€™s more, the highly promising connection with AVIAREPS Marketing Garden also represents a strategic step towards expanding the AVIAREPS groupโ€™s market presence in Asia even further.

A look at the customer portfolio also reveals positive results, along with the realization of the groupโ€™s efforts to achieve global growth. In the last business year, AVIAREPS was able to acquire a total of eight airline companies, three destinations and one hotel chain as new clients. During the course of the latest round of share takeovers in the field of tourism marketing, AVIAREPSโ€™ customer base increased by 39 new tourism contract partners. Moreover, eight existing customers have also extended their agreements with additional markets or services. The international representation company, with over 400 staff, currently represents a total of 76 airlines and 88 further tourism companies worldwide.

โ€œFollowing AVIAREPSโ€™ successful move into the Asian market and the strengthening of its position there with the founding of subsidiaries in Australia and India, our attention is now also focusing on future markets in Africa and Latin America. That is why we will found our own subsidiaries in Mexico and Brazil in the near future,โ€ said Rainer Kothe, explaining the companyโ€™s further international goals for the current business year. As before, the company is keen to safeguard stable growth with high customer satisfaction with its existing 36 subsidiaries and branches, and also to further strengthen the companyโ€™s international market position.
