The United States Department of Commerce has appointed Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) president and CEO Rossi Ralenkotter to the US Travel and Tourism Advisory Board. Ralenkotter’s role on the board will be to represent Las Southern Nevada and the US travel and tourism industry.

The board comprises 15 members representing companies and organizations in the travel and tourism industry from a broad range of products and services, company sizes and geographic locations.

First chartered in September 2003, the Travel and Tourism Advisory Board advises US Department of Commerce secretary Carlos Gutierrez on how to increase the number of international visitors to the United States and ensure that the share of the country’s international receipts continues to grow. The Travel and Tourism Advisory Board also advises secretary Gutierrez on the creation of a national tourism policy.

In September 2006, the board outlined a strategy to restore America’s travel brand among international visitors.
