Australian cricket legend Adam Gilchrist is urging everyone who has traveled in Western Australia (WA) to share their extraordinary experiences as part of a new online marketing campaign, 1001 Extraordinary Experiences, which has been developed by Tourism WA.
Launched on Monday, the campaign calls for fans of Western Australia to submit photos and share their extraordinary experiences of the State on a dedicated Facebook page, so that WA can show the rest of Australia and the world how they can also have their own extraordinary experience in WA.
Adam Gilchrist has been engaged by Tourism WA as the campaign spokesperson and has submitted the very first entry, a photo of a beautiful sunrise over Eagle Bay in the Southwest. Five WA holidays, each valued at $10,000, will also be offered as prizes to give people added incentive to submit their photos.
A judging panel will then select the best 1001 experiences, which will be compiled into an online video and used in advertising. A micro-site will also be developed, providing a fantastic research tool for consumers, which will enable them to view the video, learn more about WA, plan their own holiday, and access holiday deals.
Western Australia is home to a diverse range of extraordinary destinations, and the campaign will play a significant role in promoting regional WA and driving visitation across the State.

The 1001 Extraordinary Experiences campaign, which is partially funded through Royalties for Regions, is worth $1.6 million and forms part of a $10 million domestic marketing program (including $2.2 million in industry contributions).
