American Airlines launches codeshare agreement with Air Tahiti Nui

FORT WORTH, Texas and PAPEETE, Tahiti – American Airlines and Air Tahiti Nui, the international airline of Tahiti, received approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation on a bilateral codeshare agreement. The new codeshare agreement allows American to place its code on Air Tahiti Nui flights between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Papeete Faa’a International Airport (PPT) and allows Air Tahiti Nui to place its code on American flights from Los Angeles to more than 15 cities throughout the United States including New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Chicago, Boston, Dallas/Fort Worth, Miami and Washington, D.C. Flights are available for sale today for travel beginning Sept. 10.

“We are excited to launch this new codeshare relationship with Air Tahiti Nui to give our customers more options when traveling to the South Pacific and French Polynesia,” said Kurt Stache, American’s Vice President – Strategic Alliances. “This agreement will provide our customers with a variety of options and seamless access when traveling throughout our combined networks.”

Tahitian passengers will also benefit from fast and easy connections across the United States.”

American Airlines AAdvantage® members currently have the ability to redeem miles for award travel on Air Tahiti Nui.
