Air Astana launches direct Astana-Beijing flight

ASTANA, Kazakhstan – Air Astana launches a new Astana-Beijing direct flight commencing today.

ASTANA, Kazakhstan – Air Astana launches a new Astana-Beijing direct flight commencing today. Flights will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays using a Boeing 757 configured with 16 business class seats and 150 economy class seats. The flight will depart from Astana at 15.25 and arrive in Beijing at 22.35 local time. The return departure from Beijing will depart at 23.45 and arrive in Astana at 04.00 local time.

Air Astana first launched Almaty to Beijing services in December 2002, with 500,000 passengers and 7.5 million tons of cargo being carried since that date. A 70% load factor being achieved on the route over the past 30 months. Air Astana started services from Astana to Urumqui in western China since November 2008.

Air Astana commenced regular flight operations on 15th May 2002 and currently operates a network of more 50 international and domestic services from hubs in Almaty, Astana and Atyrau. Air Astana flies an all western fleet comprising of two Boeing 767s, five Boeing 757s, ten Airbus A320s, six Embraer 190s and three Fokker 50s. Air Astana is a full member of the International Air Transport Association and was the first airline in Kazakhstan to achieve EASA Part 145 aircraft maintenance certification. In September 2011, Air Astana passed its third annual IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA), without any findings.
