Creating tourism synergies
The Mauritian Minister for Arts and Culture, Mr. Mookhesswur Choonee, has called on the Seychelles Vice President, Danny Faure, at State House last Tuesday morning.
Accompanied by the Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture, Alain St.Ange, Minister Choonee has held a private discussion with the Seychelles Vice President Faure, in his private chambers in the presence of the Principal Secretary of Culture, Benjamine Rose, and the Special Advisor to the Seychelles Minister of Tourism & Culture, Mrs. Raymonde Onezime.
Minister Choonee said that the Mauritian Prime Minister, Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam, was honored to have been invited to Seychelles on his State Visit and being the guest of honor at the Seychelles National Day Celebrations. The Minister said that the Mauritian Prime Minister has congratulated Seychelles for what he described as the excellent and warm greeting tailored by President Michel during HE Mr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam’s State Visit to Seychelles.
Minister Choonee has also spoken about the mutual ties that exist between Seychelles and Mauritius, saying that the cultural and tourism synergies should be reinforced for the betterment of both countries.
In the cultural field, he has spoken about a new initiative set up by his ministry to encourage musicians and artists to participate in overseas performances.
The Seychelles Vice President, Mr. Danny Faure, has welcomed the presence of Minister Choonee in Seychelles, saying that it is an honor to embrace his presence in Seychelles during La Digue island’s annual celebrations of August 15. Vice President Faure said that the Mauritius Minister’s visit is based on the grounds of mutual understanding.
The Seychelles Minister, Alain St.Ange, used that meeting to brief Vice President Faure about the invitation extended to the Mauritian Minister for Arts and Culture to attend the Seychelles October Creole Festival and also on the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding for cultural exchanges between Seychelles and Mauritius.
