DUBAI, UAE – In a bid to boost tourism along the city’s waterfront, four water taxi tourist trips to and from Jumeirah Open Beach Station have been launched by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Each trip will last one and a half hours and will cost Dh150 per passenger.

Two trips will be run at 8am and 9.30am, and the other two will be at 5pm and 6pm daily.

“Operating tourist trips via the Water Taxi illustrates the vision we are seeking to realise in broadening the reach of public transport means on the one hand, and caring to foster the tourist mass transit systems on the other.

It also marks our continuous endeavours to serve the needs of commuters through providing them a comprehensive transport network that responds to their needs and at the same time offers them a pleasurable and safe transit experience,” said Essa Abdul Rahman Al Dossari, Executive Director of the Public Transport Agency.

“We, in the Public Transport Agency, are keen on opening up new marine transit lines and stations throughout the year in order to attract more tourist marine transport users, and enhance the role of this sector in the transportation network of Dubai, while maintaining the active presence of RTA services in this field throughout the day.

“Adding tourist trips through the Water Taxi tantamount to opening new windows of luxury and viewing the gorgeous sceneries of the tourist beaches of the emirate.

The services are offered at reasonable fares, and the Water Taxi has a capacity to accommodate 10 passengers only and a slot for special needs as well,” said Al Dossari.

The tour offers a great experience to explore the glamour of Dubai beaches and a view of both Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab.

The dazzling tour offers a chance to contemplate the fascination of the marvelous The Palm Jumeirah Island and the Atlantis Hotel, before heading back to the starting point alongside The World Islands.
