QUITO - Ecuador will remove visa requirement for foreign tourists to enter the country, the Ecuador's presidency website said Wednesday.

Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa ordered to waive the visa requirement for foreigners who want to visit Ecuador from any country beginning on June 20, said the website.

A statement from the Ecuadorian Foreign Ministry said the order will allow foreigners to stay in the country up to 90 days.

The move seeks to put into practice the principle of free circulation of personnel aiming at strengthening its relationship with the rest of the world through tourism promotion, it added.

The move will benefit residents from 130 countries, who usually need a visa to enter Ecuador.
